The 4th Annual 17th Street Festival - September 14 noon-6pm

Fall is here so are street festivals! The 4th annual 17th Street Festival, a community-building event celebrating the local shops, schools, restaurants, clubs, parks, arts and folks of the 17th street corridor, invited you to its signature Arts Show at the Festival. The Festival runs from 12:00-6:00 p.m. on September 14, 2013.

“We’re back again for our fourth amazing year!,” said Festival Co-Chair Stephen Rutgers. “For yet another year we expect a great crowd for the artists and vendors at this year’s festival.” The Festival’s Arts Show Chair, Celina Gerbic, is thrilled with the diverse artists participating in the show this year. “We’re excited to have so many different artists participating this year. Art collectors will want to take notice of everything from pottery to painting, photography, mixed media, jewelry and more. It’s going to be a great day for art!”

The Arts Show is sponsored by the Dupont Circle Citizens Association (DCCA).

Stop by Century 21 Redwood Realty - the host of the annual Artist Reception - to preview beautiful art by participating artists of the festival on Friday, September 13th from 6-9 pm. Featured artists include Elizabeth Eby, Amelia Shachoy, Rujunko Pugh, Nataliya Andreyeva, and potters Samantha Gordon and Al Pellenberg.Century 21 Redwood Realty is located at the corner of 17th & Q Streets in one of 2 sister houses built in 1890.

Elizabeth Eby, one of the artists participating in the Festival’s Arts Show, creates works from fused glass and painted wood. Another participating artist, J. Ford Huffman, will be featuring his mixed-media sculptures made with found objects, including miniature boxed worlds. Rujunko Pugh’s City Street Signs will also offer an array of unique prints on wood and paper.

The 17th Street Festival will also feature musical performances throughout the afternoon, a pet zone, a kid zone, exposure for non-profit groups and appearances by city officials to celebrate the community and businesses.
