Date: August 24 2012 New Hampshire Avenue Streetscape Project

The District Department of Transportation and its contractors will begin the New Hampshire Avenue Streetscape Project (from Washington Circle to Dupont Circle) on September 10th. It will take more than a year, I am told. They will begin up at Washington Circle, and work their way to Dupont, but most of the work will involve Washington Circle pedestrian improvements and making New Hampshire a two-way street once again from Washington Circle to M Street. I think we should inform all Lauren residents and owners about this meeting and the project, that will certainly affect us. Also, even more important, we should use this as an opportunity to try to get the District to fix the depression along Sunderland Place in front of the garage driveway. If we bring up this matter, with DDOT and DPW people around, maybe we can get some action. Anyway, the public meeting is this coming Wednesday, August 29th at 7 p.m. across the street at the Flats at Dupont Circle, 2000 N Street. I will do my best to be there. |
