The Woman's National Democratic Club was founded in 1922, two years after the 19th Amendment granted voting rights to women. As the first organization for Democratic women in the nation's capitol, the club provided a social setting for political dialogue between visiting Democrats and residents of the District. The WNDC has been in the forefront on national issues. In 1927, the club purchased its 19th century clubhouse which was designed by Washington architect Harvey Page for Sarah Adams Whittemore, an opera singer and descendent of the Adams Family. We hope you will be able to attend. The Dupont Circle Citizens Association (DCCA), established in 1922, strives to keep the neighborhood clean, green, historic, safe, diverse and a fun and friendly place to live.
