DCCA Environment Committee – next meeting is

for further info. We need all the help we can get to tackle environmental
issues that affect the entire neighborhood.
The new Main Streets Executive Director, Morgan Zehner, plans to walk the neighborhood every Friday afternoon for 2 hours to find and report graffiti. DCCA is working with Main Streets to propose a plan for more efficient detection and clean-up of graffiti and would appreciate any assistance from neighbors, dog walkers,etc. Those interested in helping him should contact him at 202-441-1474 or execdirector@dupontcircle.biz. Committee member Kathy Davin has done an outstanding job of keeping track of dead trees, stumps that need removal, etc. and tracking progress in planting trees, which is done by the city April 1-June 1 and October 1-December 1 of each year. If anyone knows of dead trees or stumps that need to be removed, call 727-1000 to report them. Also, it appears that the city has planted new trees next to old stumps which means that the trees will not be alive for long. If you notice this, please notify the city of the location and problem.
