From the DC Government: The DC Office of Planning is asking for community feedback on suspected errors in the Comprehensive Plan maps. If you have suspicions, suggestions or are just curious and want to learn more about these maps, which control the future of Dupont Circle, come to Commissioner Bob Meehan's home Monday night at 7PM to give Office of Planning staff your feedback. Bob's home is at 1740 Corcoran St. If you need directions, call him at 234-5151. Office of Planning will bring its latest maps. Potential errors are where colors used to show land use and zoning categories are inconsistent; where the color for land use appears to be incorrectly centered on the map and falls into the wrong adjacent zoning category; where the color of land use is at odds with what is actually in place; and other problems you may find. This meeting is not about changing land use or zoning categories. The task is to help the Office of Planning correct its maps as much as possible before it releases its first draft of the revised text of the Comprehensive Plan early 2006. Only with accurate maps can residents fully appreciate the significance and impact of the changes on Dupont Circle proposed for the revised draft. |
