Dupont Public Safety Meeting is Tuesday the Nov 16 at 7pm at the 3rd District Metropolitan Police Dept Headquarters at 1620 V Street. (Held on 3rd Tuesdays for Dupont and Kalorama-Sheridan issues.) Our community depends on good communications to and from our police. This is a roundtable meeting where we problem solve. Bring an issue – no matter how minor. The Citizens Advisory Council (CAC) is usually held on the 4th Thursday of the month at 7:30 in the same location. Because of Thanksgiving this month’s is being held this Thursday the 18th. The CAC membership form is attached. If you join by Thursday’s meeting you can vote in the January election for CAC elections of officers. You’ve heard us threatening elections for 2 years now; I think they may actually happen this time. This organization (when functional) deals with issues of the whole 3rd MPD District. Please get me you membership and this years dues if you can’t make the meeting. (Rob Halligan, 1711 Riggs Place NW, Wash DC, 20009). In the hour before this CAC meeting, the US Attorney’s office will put on a meeting describing and getting input on their Community Prosecuting program. This is a follow up to a 300 participant conference last month. A flyer describing the meeting is attached. Building relationships with the prosecutors has proved as important as building relationships with the police. |
