P Street Bridge Construction Update

Construction Zone/ parking: Barrels have been removed from the 2400 block of P Street to allow additional parking. Additional modifications to the traffic control plan and construction zone are still being worked on by traffic engineers.  

Bus stops: Due to traffic congestion, two bus stops will be modified in the construction zone during the duration of the project.  The bus stop located on the north side of P Street on the west side of the bridge will be eliminated.  The bus stop located on the south side of P Street, on the bridge just before 22nd Street, will be moved to an area just east of 23rd Street.  These changes have been coordinated with WAMATA.

Pedestrian access to the north side of P Street Bridge:  This access has been restricted as it is part of the construction zone and therefore unsafe for pedestrian access.  However, DDOT has received comments that it is restricting access to the Rock Creek Park trail.  DDOT will look into the issue for possible modifications that will keep pedestrians safe and provide additional access.
